Possible to redo a work unit?

Is it possible to force the SMP client to redo a work unit. I have one that might be a good stability test that I wish to play around with.
 
I personally would suggest P95 and not the WUs because it doesn't push as hard as P95 would.

 
Well right now I'm thinking its a RAM stability issue and not the CPU OC.

I would run memtest, but I would really rather use my PC while I run the SMP client.
 
DO what you have got to in order to make it stable... It's your rig :)
 
Technically, you can do this. Just copy the whole SMP folder in another place, let it run to 100% so you can get credited at least once. When you are done, stop the original client then start the copy one for your needs. You might upload more than once and not getting credited but at least you aren't working on a useful work unit.
 
The p2652's are the work units that are most likely to fail on you.
At times it feels that it a 50-50 chance of it failing once you've downloaded one.
If it does fail, I've found theres little chance of it finishing on the same box.
Its still 50-50 if you move it to another box.

So if your going to play around with a work unit to test stability, I'd pick one of them.

p2653 is a stable work unit.

As such you will be able to run at higher clock speeds or with tighter memory timeing than with an iffy work unit like p2562.

If your going to be testing an overclock with a work unit, then you need one that will show you a difference between a very stable overclock, which is what you need for folding and just a good fast on.

I agree, it seems 2652 series WU stress the hardware a bit more than others causing issues. There is a lot of them failing on 50% of the boxes and when another box redownload the same WU, it will complete where others fail indicating it's mostly a hardware issue.

I suggest you just fold till you get one of them, then make a copy as a testing WU (Let it complete at least once at stable speeds to get credit as not to delay the science).
