I need your help to see if this actually works. Not sure if it's online or not (pretty sure you can google it...I guess) but here is something that I notice when OC your Ram when you want Either 1:1, 2:3 or 3:4

Here is something interesting I found out. I am sure all of you know this but someone out there may not know and this is helpful. There is a formula when determing your 1:1, 2:3, 3:4 and 4:5 ratios. I know it works for 1:1, 2:3 and 3:4 but not sure about 4:5 ratios. Here is the formula using P5WD2-E Prem with Intel 660 @ 3.6:
Ratio=FSB/Ratio numerator (x) Ratio denominator (x) 2= DRAM Frequency. This seems to work best when the last digit in the FSB (CPU Frequency) is an even number (0,2,4,6,8).

Example of 1:1 Ratio 250 FSB (CPU Frequency)
1:1=250/1 = 250x1 = 250x2 = 500 Mem Frequency (I use this at x18 Multi)

Example of 2:3 Ratio 250 FSB (CPU Frequency)
2:3=250/2 = 125x3 = 375x2 = 750 Mem Frequency (I use 2:3 @ x14 Multi)

Example of 3:4 Ratio at 250 FSB (CPU Frequency)
3:4=250/3 = 83x4 = 332x2 = 664 Mem Frequency (not sure which multi this is best for)

Yes thats what a memory ratio is
.... you take your FSB and multiply by the top number (numerator) and divide by the bottom number (denominator) and that gives you the memory bus. (then b/c its DDR or DDR2 its doubled that)

I do that calculation all the time, often in my head so I'm not very impressed and I don't think many people in here will be. BUT thanks for the information, that I'm sure was a MYSTERY to so many people... (not!) :)
 
I was going to respond using the same words as chrisf, but I reconsidered and he posted while I did. So, that's how it goes down.
 
BTW, YOU should just use a calculator so you carry all of your decimals, and get the real numbers, like 83.333333 x 4 = 333.3333 x 2 = DDR 667 (spec speed)

You dropping some digits might make it look like DDR665 (not spec speed)

Well I didnt know users like you were so touchy feely about it. It's hard to post something simple like this without insulting someone's manhood like yours..But the real question is...should it even bother you like that at all? Its like someone getting upset because a person blurts out the fact that its a sunny day! Learn to keep your emo under control and be a man.
 
He was hardly being "emo". You posted the obvious, and if you did your research you would have found that equation quickly. Next time you make one of your ground shattering discoveries, don't post it without atleast looking around. And from the looks of it, you're probably less than 18 (and hardly a "man", as anyone around that age), so speak for yourself. I'm sorry you feel your self-proclaimed manhood feels questioned.
