I just replaced the motherboard in my wife's system with an AI7 board. The previous incarnation of this system was getting intermittent BSOD, and after changing memory, video card, etc. with known good parts I came to the conclusion that the board was bad. So now I have installed the new board and am trying to install XP Pro (a genuine copy) and the system goes BSOD or reboots as the install gets to the 39 minutes or 37 minutes remaining stage. Again I tried different memory, different video card, etc and the BSOD or reboot persists. Has anyone ever partially killed a cpu? This processor is a 2.0A and I ran it at 2.4 @ 1.8 volts for a long long time. Right now I have tried at stock speeds, at 2.2, different voltages. I'm at a loss here. Ideas or suggestions appreciated. I just can't imagine a partially jacked up cpu but then again who knows...
