Hello,

I plan to leave my PC batch-encoding movies for a big while. That operation uses the CPU at 100%.

I can borrow a portable air conditioner, but I was thinking if it could be possible to make it point directly to my open case for the session. Does the condensation mean some risk?

10x.

Why is it even necessary? Both my rigs are folding - cpu at 100% 24/7, both are OC'ed/overvolted. No problems - ever.

Necessary because from time to time I get temp alarms on heavy CPU-usage processes (I'm talkin about 60ºC and up), and I plan to leave the PC unattended for some hours.

Well I don't plan to buy a device for this (though the AC-PAC400 looks cool). Just wanted to know if is there any risk with my idea.

This is fake.. It's just a cross flow fan.

Alvein,
If you need to keep the CPU cooler, why don't you
a) get a ducts to help remove the hot air better
b) get a better HSF
c) get a cheap water cooling unit
A and B should be more than sufficient. Even just B if you have decent airflow.

I already bought a new HS. Just waiting it arrives, but the encoding session is rather urgent.

No water cooling device will be cheap for me.

Nobody has answered the question about the conditioner. :p
