I've heard that OCing your memory yields triangle errors with the gfx card. Now I OCed my 9800 pro's memory to 360mhz and I when I run rthdribl PS 2.0 demo I will see the circle "morph". It looks like it would be shedding a skin as a new circle appears in the middle and expands back into the regular circle. Hard to explain.
This doesn't seem to happen at lower speeds. My internal case temp is 18C(yes 18C, very chilly in there) and I think I would be able to get a better OC. Ugh maybe I just got a bad card, I see white dots in that program when the core is only 409mhz.
I really need the extra performance as my card chugs in alot of my games. Like in KotOR at 1024x768 AA/AF off my game goes 20-30fps most of the time. In Red Orchestra for UT2k3 I get around 28-40fps @ 1280x960 and 25-40 in NFS:U. I get around 5900-6100 3Dmarks in 2k3.(I turned VSYNC off for this test) VSYNC is on for games but I have Triple Buffering on, turning it off yields no performance increase.
