I was thinking about spyware removal programs and definition updates. Commonly people recommend one program or another based on their experience. ABC program someimes catches what xyz program misses and vice versa.
I'm thinking that if I run AGV (spyware, not antivirus) and then run Spybot right after, then Spybot may get an extra hit or two. (Or vice versa)
But if I wait a day for the definition files to catch up to each other, either would wipe out all.
I haven't actually tested this theory. I'm not sure it is testable. I bring it up because I'm curious. Where do the different spyware program managers get their definitions. Is there a shared database, or is there a guy or team for each program somewhere going into the seedy parts of the intertubes trying to catch something new?
