Small cases , mid range or Big cases?

Personally i hate anything smaller than an ANTEC 900.:D
Just wanting to hear some opinions of what people like and why.

My reason for big cases, big hands,,,

I would like to have more full tower cases with 10+ SATA / SAS hotswap bays each containing a power light, power switch and activity led. I would like the case to be quiet and also have good airflow and dust filters on all fans. On top of that no crazy leds in the fans or see through cutouts. Just a plain black case.
 
Nice. That is what i need yet! Dust filters.. DOH how could i forget. See I knew i made this thread for a reason.
I just like having more room to work. And possible upgrades.
 
Bigger the better for my primary system and smaller as the demands lesson, like a mid for portable gaming, and M-ATX or ITX for single task machines.
 
I can fit most full size towers inside my case, but there were no options for super-humongous-ginormous so I voted for large.
 
While I've built my share of mid-sized, and small systems... I personally use Full Tower cases now. If only so I can have good cooling for SLI.

Anyways i am working on a case idea using sketch-up. It is still in the "what the hell do i want it to look like" Anyways current dimensions so far are 24"x8"x18" So it is a tad bigger than full tower cases

Hahaha, the 800D and 700D are 24" x 9" x 24", and that's about as big as you can get without adding hilariously awkward shipping costs to the thing. I'd be interested to see your sketchup when it's done though.
 
I like them decently sized, but don't need a ton of expansion.

I've been jumping around cases recently. I had a Thermaltake midtower, and it was nice, but I wanted to try water. Got a Lian Li full tower, but changed my mind about water. It's a nice case, but it's gigantic on the outside and tiny on the inside. It's narrower than the TT and doesn't have very good aircooling. It's an old case. Looks the same on the outside, but it's got the old PSU above the mobo layout and has dual 80mm exhausts. It would have been perfect for water, because there's a ton of dead space above the PSU, but for an aircooled rig it still has everything mushed together below a huge empty area of extra drive bays and room for a second PSU.

So I started looking some more, and fell in love with the Lian Li PC-A05B. It's small, but it has all the expansion room I would need, and a solid air-cooling layout.

However, I got intrigued by the G5 casemods, and picked up one of those instead. Hand is callused and sore after working on it with hand tools all day. IMO, it's one of the nicest looking cases ever. I want to find a powdercoater to coat it black for me, but it's still silver for now. I got the Apple crap out, cut out a lot of the back and have a full ATX mobo tray almost aligned, and I'm cutting up the shelf with my nibbler to mount the PSU. Gonna throw gaming rig into it, and server/htpc in the Lian Li with a bunch of hard drives (mostly 500 giggers I got kicking around)

My ideal case size would be a midtower that has really good airflow and a good layout for not having a lot of expansion. I want one optical drive, possibly one fan controller, one mechanical hard drive, and an SSD. So much wasted space in most cases I've owned because they support 10 hard drives and 5 optical drives and it's just pointless. That's what originally appealed to me with the A-05B - it's an ATX case in a mATX size because it limits the number of drive bays.

Holy cow, and i thought my sizes were big.. o_O
Right now i have the basic shell of the system complete with the side panels winging out. Cause i will have my panels hinged on.. I am still trying to figure out more angles on it. I don't really like "super square" cases. I am work currently and my design is at home on my pc or else i would access it. To give you an idea of the top, i have made it so 4 80mm exhaust fans shove the air out the top through a guide or vent, but the vent just looks to simple. (Then again first time trying to even do this, so what did i expect..)
 
Ya. Unless i bump it up to 92mm or 120mm but i do not think ,maybe, the 8" width would allow 2 side by side. Let me do some measuring.

man 92mm fans would work but at 3.62inches that is close. No error room there.

Just picked up a C700d awesome case love soo far i have had Matx and mid towers for a long time now.. this is the first full size tower that i have had in almost 9 years......

800D for my main rig. Honestly wouldn't mind if it were bigger.

I went mid-tower for my 2007-2009 pc, hated it. Was such a PITA to swap almost any piece of hardware. The Tuniq Tower took up like half the volume.
