I just picked up a pny geforce 6800nu today and the driver CD was missing. wtf? has anyone else had this problem?

I just got the driver off of nvidia's site, but this is just pathetic.

Yep happens to be the norm!
Not really a problem, Isn't the first thing you do, is go to the nv site and download the latest and greatest! If it saves them a few bucks why not? I haven't pulled an original cd (except WinXP) since I don't know when!

That is pathetic...but from what I've heard that's the way they do it. My eVGA GT came with a driver cd/Nvidia dvd software and Far Cry full version for the same price as the PNY's.

Do they really need to save more money, honestly?

But I know how you feel, what if your internet connection was down that night and you wanted to play your AWESOME Doom 3 Game, since its Single Player.

I would stick one hand in a glass of water and the other in my PS

I might take this back to the store though. :(

I am apprehensive that I did the wrong thing by going with the geforce 6800nu.
I should take the card back and get the 6800gt.

someone wanna pif 100 dollars though?

I hope my comp will run doom 3 ok...

I have a dual proc athlon mp 1600+, 512 megs pc2100, and a 6800nu.

meh...I hope D3 is multithreaded too...

Who would use the driver cd anyway? old and busted. go for the new hotness. old will only give you lower performance. met a guy like that once. he is still using the same drivers that came with his ti4200 and his drivers that came with his kt7a.(they are the best). Smart? peeps always use the drivers in the box.

I'm sorry. I am making fun of ignorant people (5years of in home tech). Yeah its brutal but so is this 5th of vodka. ALWAYS GET THE BEST DRIVERS. THROW THAT CD AWAY!! The performance and quality that you get from newer drivers is worth the time to download. them.
formatting hd will help, but then again, so will a -100c cascade :)

if the card came with the driver cd, I would not use those drivers...

It is juts a natural thing to wonder about when your damn video card is missing a software cd.

and I like playing with the nvidia demo things too. :D
