plexi-glass shelf comp

Horizontal scrollbars on the pictures are NOT pleasant. Also resize the pictures to a more manageable size.

It's a novel idea, but rather risky since it's all open. It looks kind of jury rigged as well, like you saw a shelf and just decided to drop a computer on top of it.

you are absolutely right, i really do need to fix those pictures because the scroll bars are extremely annoying. despite the way it may look, I actually spent several months thinking about and designing this case. the open design has, in my 1+ years of experience, been excellent. the reason being, it is mounted above any level where drinks would be spilled on it etc., so there is really nothing that i can think of that would happen to it. the main fault i find with it is that it is not really mobile since it is screwed into the wall. however, with some thought and ingenuity, i'm sure i could implement a more flexible design. as for my inspiration, i was mostly inspired by my lack of satsifaction with current floor-based computer cases. it is much like a shelf, which, in my opinion, is one of the most useful and best methods for storing objects. i'm wondering if you guys think the shelf is also a good idea for computers?

peace
