This is something I have been noticing now for the last 2 months. (Chances are, it has always been happening.) When I run the Vista Media Center in full screen mode, the ATI 3d Clocks kick in. (It does not happen in windowed mode.)

Also, this happened when I had a 4850 except only when I was watching live tv or something like that. (Once again, not in windowed mode.) I tried different drivers with the exact same results.

Can someone please run VMC in full screen mode and see if their 3d clocks kick in as well? That would be greatly appreciated and then I will know if it is a problem unique to my machine or not.
 
why does it bother you? I think it would as full screen video is assisted by the GPU.

if the clocks bother you, just create a profile w/ say manual clocks of 500/500 and that way when under that profile, thats as high as the clocks will go hence, you will not bee running full 750 when doing WMC.
