Just bought a new Aspire 2025 and if I could get the wireless connection working well I would love this laptop.
I have a Motorola wr850g wireless router. My connection starts out fine and then drops to 1Mbps after a couple of minutes and then fluctuates from 1Mbps to 5Mbps. Eventually it will disconnect. Sometimes I can get it connected again and sometimes not. I downloaded sp2 for xp and it didn't help any. Upgraded the firmware on the router, no go. Installed the Intel Prowireless software and disabled wireless zero configuration and that didn't help either, but I can now see what my connection is doing. I have 100% signal strength at all times, but the signal quality varies from 40-60% and the "missed ap beacons" ranges from 60-80%. This doesn't change as I move the laptop from room to room. Right now it is sitting about three feet from the router and the connection is dial-up slow. I don't have 2.4g phone nor anything else in the house that is wireless.
Any help here would be GREATLY appreciated.
