I'm not sure where to post this question, but I need some help. Trying to install Fall out 3 gives me a "Conflict with Emulation software dectected" error message and I can't install this fucker. I know it's some bs securerom error, but I don't know how to get around it. Can anyone help? I thought this was a good deal for 39.99 at Target but if it's just going to be a coaster that's really overpriced. PLEASE HELP!
 
Now sure why you didnt post this in the general gaming forum?...but maybe uninstall daemon tools or any emulation program that might be screwing it up.

It's because Bethesda assumes you're criminal and filthy pirate, so they're doing everything in their power to prevent you from distributing your copy of the game, even if that means you won't even be able to play it.
 
Finally got the game working today. I have to launch the game from the patch that Bethesda released. Not a big deal I guess although at first I was a little pissed about the possiblity of having a $40 coaster. Graphics are really nice. Just loaded up the game so I haven't gotten outside the vault just yet but everything is locked at 60 fps (v-sync on of course) at 2560X1600 with 4XAA and 15XAF. Let's see if that holds up when I hit outside. Hopefully it does.
 
im just in shock that they make shit like this so difficult for actual buyers, but the people who pirate it have no issues what so ever. They dont even need to play with the disk in the drive.

Whats the point I mean honestly? do they think their game is pirated less because of its antipiracy features? All it takes in one crack, and a fallout3 crack was out on day 1....

Same thing with spore... and every game under teh sun. can you name one game where antipiracy actually kept people who didnt buy it from playing it?

If you want my honest opinion, they should create a master server, and every game must report to this server with a unique key. The game company has the option of banning a key if its been installed too many times, or something among that nature. Then the people who actually bought the game can be proud in the respect they know the only way someone can play it is by paying for it. Where right now, you spent 40 to play it while lil johney DL'ed it off the interwebs and played it for free....
 
If you have Alcohol 120, Daemon Tools, or PowerISO installed the game wont setup. Uninstall the game, then the emulation software. Then reinstall the game first, then the disc emulation software, and you should be ok. FEAR did the same thing in 2005 when it was released.
 
Fallout 3 has minimum DRM. The problem the OP had was a bug that had a patch the day of the launch. Bethesda has always had minimum DRM - just a CD check.

I had no problems installing and playing the game with Daemon tools running.
