I currently have a E6300 overclocked to 3.6 on a evga 680i, I am interested in buying a quad core as I don't game as much anymore and I do mostly video encoding, I use winrar a lot, cd burning, and download, I usually do these things at once and sometimes my E6300 lags very bad.

would I really see a benefit of buying one of those newly priced cut q6600 or something similar, please advice, I also have 4gb of ram. thanks.
 
Video encoding, compression and multitasking are pretty much what a quad-core lives for. It sounds like you might benefit, yes.

thank you all, now one last question, is there a quad core that you would recommend that would play nice with my 680i? also do I need to upgrade my memory or am I ok with what I had for the E6600? it's a crucial ballistix 1000mhz.
