PIO Mode!? Stupid Piece!

Hi all. I have a problem and it's driving me nuts. I recently upgraded from a 30 gig Fireball LM drive to a 200 gig Maxtor drive. I installed windows etc and now, the damn drive is running on PIO 4 mode only.. I can't get it to run on any UDMA level. Is it possible that it's my crap motherboard (ECS K7S5A) that is causing it to be so shitty? My old drive worked fine at UDMA 4 I believe

Have you tried updating the IDE driver?

actually, ya. that was the first thing I did. It occured to me that I haven't checked the bios yet.

Problem solved. Actually, the fix was ridiculously simple: uninstall the Primary IDE channel drivers.

Its a winxp bug cause I get this problem every year or so.
