I have Vista 64 running on my EVGA780i mobo. I am connected via ethernet to modem/wireless router. I am using comodo as a firewall. I am also using a sidebar gadget called Wired Network Meter so keep an eye on traffic.
All seems to be working fine except Network Meter shows a spike of traffic (both up&down) exactly every thirty seconds. It lasts for less than a second and appears to be less than 2B/s. But when I look on active connections on comodo there is no corresponding activity - no traffic to be seen. I am wondering what is causing the spikes of network activity. cheers
edit: I have read about RIP announcements but do not know if they are responsible. Any clarity would be greatly apprecriated.
