I sent out some PM's to a couple of people. But when I look in my outbox(my sentbox) nothing shows up so I assume nothing is getting sent out. Is there a requirement to send PM too?

There's a setting in your user control panel options.

"Save a copy of sent messages in my Sent Items folder by default"

Yours was set to "no" but I changed it to "yes". So the PMs went out, but you hadn't asked to save a copy, so nothing's in your "sent" folder.

Oh i see. So you went ahead and changed the option to the appropriate setting for me already? Sweeeet! thanks alot.

You're welcome. :)

Yes, the default is to not save copies unless requested. Guess it saves a modicum of server space/processes.

I was also confused about that too. But isn't it intuitive to automatically save a copy of your sent PMs in the sent PMs folder?

Then they take up space, and your inbox fills without you realizing it, and you can no longer recieve PM's.

That's why you pay attention to the number of PMs you have, and clear out or back up old or unneeded messages. It is definitely useful to have copies of all the PMs you send.

Registered members get 400 PMs, Subscribers get 600. That's a very generous amount compared to most other boards. And if you get to the point of topping off, you can always download all your PMs as XML, CSV or Text. Plain text works for me, it's searchable in Notepad. :)
