Hello [H]ardheads.

here smy situaton.

i am runnin an Swifty MCW 5002 PT 226 wat pelt on my 2.4c OCed at 3.6ghz <300x12>
1GB mushkin level 2 PC 3500 at 2-2-2-6

i get idle temps of around 8c via hardware doctor, but when i run CPU burn, my load temp goes up to like 35c.

does that sound right? i have full contact on the IHS with the cold plate and i am running it in a loop with my MCW 50 T on my 9800XT. all that thru a 87 chevetee heatercore and an 86 CFM panaflo 120mm fan. the system is total 1/2" ID tubing and i am running a mag 5 500GPH pump.

here is how my loop is setup.

Pump/MCW50T/RAD/MCW5002PT/RES/Pump.

thats how swiftech recomends you set it up. the water is prety warm, so will that have anything to do with the load temp, due to the fact that the water temp is rushin on the hot pelt?

i have no stability issues, but i just want to know how to get that load temp below 20c. should be ale to do it. also are pelts known for not controlling load temps very well, or rising above ambient a lot?

thanks!

C

You need to crank that fan up or get a bigger fan. I recommend the Comair Rotron 172x150mm fans for a 226w pelt + P4 situation. Other than that, you definitely need a larger radiator. That is simply too much heat load for the chevette HC. Can you add another HC anywhere else in your case? Possibly put another on the bottom or on the top? You need more surface are for 300+ watts.

thanks i was thinking the same thing!

what size heatercore would you recomend? one that i can get local at the parts store.

thanks again

Holy SHIT

8 degrees idle? dats around 3 times lower than room temp...
35 load is not bad at all

if u compared to mines...

35 idle, 50 load

I'd say you definately need a bigger radiator. Get a second one of those fans, and a radiator you can mount two of 'em to.

well thats regular when using thermo electric cooling or "peltiers"

i think ill fix this prob with a bigger radiator and more CFM fans pushing more air.

thanks guys
