Quick question: Are they worth it?

If I get one, it'll go so it siphons hot air from right next to the GPU (geforce 8800 gts 512mb) out the back of my case. I'll throw my other PCI slot stuff below it, since they don't really need cooling (cheap sound card, extra USB ports).

The one I'm looking at is AOC FC-2000 PCI Slot Case Cooler. It's supposed to blow at 42 CFM, which seems to be a pretty good deal. Will it have any sort of a noticable effect on GPU temps, or will it end up being extra clutter?

Really pleased with mine, *might* have solved CPU/MEMORY heat
issues. dont' know about GPU though

i have one, bought it from microcenter. I put it right between my sound card and video card. Seems to keep things cooler, but it makes my computer sound a lil louder =P

Alright. I guess the next step is to make sure that the GPU fan is pulling air from the GPU so it goes into the PCI fan... otherwise the PCI fan and GPU fan will be working against each other, and that's no good >.>

Or you can leave your graphics card alone and buy an Antec VCool, which is a PCI slot fan that intakes air rather than exhausts it.

I had a similar fan to the one in your link, years and years ago. Mounted it right below the GPU to suck that hot air and blow out the back of the case. It worked well for my video card back then (forgot what model it was) but it must have been a card with a fan that simply "sucked" the hot air off the board and blew it right into my slot fan.

And yes, you really have to make sure your GPU fan is pulling hot air off the board, or this combo wont work.

So... that begs the question... where do I find out whether or not the cooler for the GeForce 8800GTS 512MB sucks or blows? Anyone here know which one?
