SUp all...

today while i was playin CS.. my pc turned off it self.. and then when i tried to turn it back on the fans came on for less then a sec then went off... so i opened the comp and tried to figure out the problem.. what i found was. If i take the Black and yellow Four pin wire that come from main fan and connects to the mobo, out the computer turns on. and if i put it back in the comp turns on for less than a sec and then turns off..

without the 4pin cable in my comp wont do anythin.. the process red light remains on forver and the comp doesnt do shit..
so waht is the solution to this?? i have tried resettin everythin but still no luck? plz help

the sensor in the heat sink is telling the mother board the processor is to damn hot, there for it shuts the system down. try remounting your heat sink just for fun

Also check and make sure your fan is operating. Just covering the simple bases first.

Most of these issues are just "little" things, you can ask almost anyone, and they will tell you that it is the simplist things that get you. Let your PC stay off for about an hour to cool off. Then turn it on and time how long it takes to shut itself off. Then wait 1 minute then do the same thing. If it is shorter time period then it is definatly overheating. Another thing i might try is to get a new CPU fan, other than stock and try that, it maybe a bad connection with the wires. But use this as a last resort, cause its probably a long shot!

Try also resetting CMOS, there might be a setting enabled which shuts down computer when mobo doesn't detect CPU FAN (happened to me even with the STOCK Intel HSF)

Check with the CPU manufaturer as they usually have warrenties etc. Depending on when you got your CPU.

I had a similar problem today in which I rebooted after 3 days of normal running, ate lunch, come back to a machine that will only boot in safe mode. I still have no idea WTF happened, but a format cured it.
