I dont know where this would go, im havin a small problem, but its an annoying one.

when im playing games, Ut2004, the game pauses for like a second every now and then. then when im about to die or already being killed. the game pauses then starts.

in doom 3, it does this when opening doors, or going into new areas.

my system is,

BFG 6800 GT OC 410/1100
AMD 64 3200+ @ 2.2ghz 1mb cache
ASUS K8V mobo
Aspire 520watt psu

any other things needed?
 
sounds like you need more ram in either your vid card or your system. judging my your video card, its probably your system ram.

try turning settings on doom.3 to High quality instead of Ultra (im guessing they're on ultra right now). as far as other games go, tuning down texture detail will free up some ram.
