Patch panel questioin

I have a 5e patch panel right now. Can I use it with CAT6 cable, and upgrade my network to gigabit? Or, do I need to get a CAT6 patch panel?

It'll work. Just like you can use CAT6 cables with CAT5 ends.

And if all you're going for is GigE, you don't even need Cat6.

Yeah, that's kind of what I figured. All the cable that's going to go from the patch panel to the PC's/servers/routers will be CAT6, but I'll just use 5e from the switch to the panel. I already have CAT6 running from the switch out, so don't want to have to go out and re-buy it.
