Past 640X480?

Well i just plugged my computer into my HD tv and i can't get it to go past 640X480. When i try to go higher the video looks all Fup. Is it my TV or something to do with settings?

You said an HDTV? yes? well that should go up to your native res and look excelent, unless its one of those suposed CRT HDTVs, those should hadle a few more resolutions that just the native. btw, old CRTs that are not HD, look best at 640x480, thats the stadired res for most non HD TV, so i really have no idea what the problem is, maybe you could explain a little bit more, and maybe some pics/screenshots.

How did you plug it in? Component? Composite? S-Video? Composite and S-Video can only give you 640x480 since they are non-HD inputs. Component would be what you'd need for this.
