I'm Looking at building a Silent and Passively cooled Rig.
I Have a 5770 silent cell and a Intel Core i5 2500k (Not overclocked). All in a Lian Li PC A04 mATX case with a Seasonic X-460 Fanless.
I'm after a Good Passive Cpu cooler for the i5 and am also wondering if The system will produce to much heat in a small case with no fans running.
 
No fans at all the case I have a hard time believing that would work. I think at a minimum you could probably get away with a single case fan drawing air through both coolers. Something 120/140mm ought to do OK.
 
Definitely have at least one case fan. Since your obviously worried about noise use about a 1000rpm 120/140mm fan as stated above (sub 1000rpm fans are mostly inaudible). If you read on most passive coolers they recommended good airflow, kinda ironic. If you don't have at least one fan the air will just sit in the case and build up. The only air being moved will be form pressure differences and be less than 2 cfm I presume. I also presume you know that case come with three fans in it. If I recall correctly those fans are decent quality, but you can probably find better in the after market (noctua comes to mind). As for a cpu cooler The Thermalright HR-02 received high marks and should fit in that case. Noctua also makes great heatsinks, you can just leave the fans off and they will work fine. I think they are pretty much the best for a high quality heatsinks. Some might preform better but the quality is usually less. I recommended having one fan in there and monitor your temps closely. If they rise beyond whats comfortable for you than just add another fan. I seriously doubt you will need more than two fans for those components. The fact that the case is small will work in your favor as the fan/s/ will cycle air faster. Hope I helped.
