Parts Swap Thread

To help the [H]orde reach its new PPD goal we need to work together and combine some resources. We all have spare parts that are not being used so lets inventory everything and see if we can help each other get some more boxen up and running for minimal cost. Though we have no way to enforce this, I ask that all parts received through this thread be used only in machines that fold.

If you have extra hard drives you don't need post it here, if you need a small hard drive to get a dedicated folder running, ask for it here etc. This could be a great way to keep some of those older single cores running or getting that old motherboard you've been looking for.

Note that these are items we are giving away or trading, NOT selling. Shipping costs are acceptable.

Let me start with mine :

What I'm looking right now : A PCI-E videocard (I'm replacing a EVGA 610i with a 650i so I lose the integrated graphics). I have PCI but I would rather keep the slots for my NICs since it's also a firewall box.

What I have to offer : A bunch (maybe 4-5) of 40-80 Gb PATA harddisks including a few almost brand new Barracuda 7200.9/7200.10.

I live in Canada so shipping costs might be a issue but I'm open to pay shipping for my request and maybe pay 5$ shipping for the harddisks (the costs should be in the 10-12$ ballpark for a HDD package).

I have 2 PATA drives I think 250gig, 1 NIC card, 2 modems, a PCI vid card and a Pentium M proccessor... but if anyone snatches these up better use them 100% for folding otherwise I can sell them and build another Q6600 :) But if it helps you complete your box then go for it.

I'm in Chicago so if you can pick stuff up that is great, if you need it shipped I will ship it and you pay the shipping after I ship it. I will post Pictures tonight.

No gaurantees anything works... I have NOT tested these items.

They should work just fine, but you never know sitting in a parts bin can for a year or two can have ill effects.

Kendrak's list
<rummages though bins>

Have to give:
60Gb Seagate HDD IDE
9600 pro Vid card AGP (but should still work)
Cheap (and I do mean cheap) PSU, supposedly 430 watts
Intel stock HSF for E2160, E4500

Need:
SATA CD-ROM (or dvd)

dang guys, i dont know right now what parts i have lying around, what i do have is space in my rack. Just need more systems to throw in there.

I am needing two hard drives .... around 20GB or more (Enought for XP and F@H install)

I have two boxen ready to go online but I had to put them in my living room.
Gonna run them wireless but can't do that with diskless.
