A friend of mine has a Kingstone DT310 256gb pendrive, and wants to create four partitions within the drive. In the past, i used a tool created by Lexar, which has the ability to switch a special bit which forces windows to recognize the drive as an hard disk rather then a removable storage unit. It always worked in the past but this time the program gives an error during format. I then tried to format the pen using Paragon Partition Manager, but i get odd errors. First, it tells me that it needs to format during boot up, but then the partitions are inaccessible. I also had an error trying to restore the original partition when it would work fine after formatting but the partition would turn inaccessible after restarting windows. Its working ok now but it makes me wonder whether the pen drive is defective somehow.
I tried googling this problem but it appears partitioning pen drives is not very common, or all that easy after all. Any help would be appreciated.
