Couldn't think of a better forum to post this question.

I just bought 2 Mikael Desk from Ikea (On sale for $30 each!! :D):

I also bought two Signum Wire systems:

The Signums are not meant to be screwed into particle board obviously. I want to zip-tie my modem/router and have surge protectors on these things, so they need some strength to them.

I am thinking of applying some epoxy to the brace and then screwing it in. Are there any other suggestions?

This worries me:
Main parts: Particleboard, Fiberboard, ABS plastic, Printed and embossed acrylic paint, Clear acrylic lacquer
Filling: Paper
Rail: Particleboard, Melamine foil, ABS plastic

Not really sure what they mean by "filling", but if it is in the middle of my desk that makes me a little nervous.

hmmm, what I would do is drill a hole right through the desk (lol I know) and use nuts and bolts with washers to hold them on. Particleboard is some flimsy stuff, I'd be worried about the weight eventually destroying the holes from screws

You could do a countersunk hole and then use some sort of cap or plug to hide 'em (or just let the heads poke out the top of the desk), obviously depending on the thickness of it

edit: is that a cross brace in that pic? put the rack behind that and cut small notches into it where you're putting the rack to clear the legs. You can use that cross brace for some support and possibly even drill holes into it and use zipties to hold the rack in place :) I'm sure you'll figure something out once you get it all together.

I am kind of nervous about the Signum and this flimsy Mikael Desk particle board.

I may cut some black bed sheets and staple gun them to the support board in the middle.

With the lack of direct lighting under the desk this would probably look decent, and then I would not have to really organize the wires, but just hide them. :D
