While trying to decide wether to buy a 6800 ultra or a x800xt, I have been involved in the compusa( 6800 ultra) and the gateway(x800xt) fiasco. I would like to officially state that paper launches SUCK!!!!!. I hope Nvidia and ATI realise that they are pissing us off, and if I had the willpower I would hold on to my 9700 pro, but I dont :( With that said I will buy the card that ships first for a decent retail price, and not from the ripoff web stores that are screwing over eager customers :D $600 plus for a card that should retail for 499 :mad:

I dont mind early benches, but I dont like a "launch" without a damn product.
 
I like to give them 6 weeks before calling things "paper launches". I can see how a company would not want to begin shipping their products before the official launch. Distribution takes time.

Deadline's getting close, though. Btw, has the x800XT been officially launched yet?
