I was trying to find the "specs" on this fan, Panaflo 80MM Ultra Quiet Case Fan FBA08A12L, pc club has 3 in stock right now, i want to use it on my koolance exos. there website has no specs on it. i just really want to know speed and cfm.

How about replacing the stock fans with the Thermaltake Smart Case fan 2? Is there a maximun wattage that the koolance watercooler will support on the fans?

That fan does not pull many watts, it will be safe there. I have dual 120mm fans plugged into the fan headers of my mobo without a problem.

my friend said the smartfans take 2-8 watts, 8 watts at full rpm wich would probably be mode 3 on the koolance. is 8 watts to high

crap i gotta problem, me and my friend decided to do it today on both our units, so be bought some antec fans, they have led iluminated lights in them and pull around 36cfm, on my unit the fans only spin in mode 3, the fans stop in mode 1 and 2 and just the LED lights are on. his stop completly in mode 1 also, his spin at probaably only at like 500rpms in mode 2.

anybody, im in a hurry Frys closes in about another hour, just incase i have to return them

theyre probably not going to work then by what youve said. id return the antec LED fans and try your original idea with the panaflos, or the AOCs i linked to, something has got to work.

i got smart fan 2's instead, modes work fine, but on mode 3 imagine 3 fans 48 db each pumping out 72cfm of air. there 8 watts each at max rpm. Would it draw to much power? its workin fine for rite now all at max speeds, and i do have a great psu

i was gonna do the same when i bought an exos-al.

thought these would be a nice switch...

Just keep in mind that the EXOS uses 3 pin fan connectors, it dosen't monitor RPM but it does use the same connector so you will have to convert those fans and make sure you have enough length on the wiring tail to reach the control board !

forgot to suggest cooler master LED fans over the antecs. mostly because they use a quieter bearing and yes they use 3pin connections which makes things easier. ;)

edit: specs on the coolermasters...

Fan Dimension 80x80x25 mm
Fan Speed 2500 rpm
Fan Airflow 32.11 CFM
Fan Life Expectance 50,000 hrs
Bearing Type Rifle bearing
Voltage Rating 12V
Input Current 0.15A
Input Power 1.80W
Noise Level 25.0 dBA
Connector 3 Pin
LED Color Blue
Weight 75g

i had to do the same thing with these smart fans, i had to buy extenders for the 3 pins, wow these things are great, just kinda got to deal with the noise, im just leaving it on mode 2 and its probably pusing around 40cfm easily. Im happy. mode 3 doesnt really help more with the heat, its useless pushing the 75cfm

does anybody know if there is a limit on the amount of wattage the fans u put in the exos?

anybody?, im guessing the stock fans are 2 watts each and these fans are 8 watts each, no problems on day 2 so far
