P5B-VM weirdness

I finally got my replacement P5B-VM in the mail yesterday (Go Egg!!!) and I swapped out my temp ECS board for it. I have a few negging questions though. It seems my setup makes the P5B-VM really really quirky..

Don't get me wrong, it works. Its just hard to get it to start working.

1) This is the problem I find the strangest: If I unplug AC power for the night, it doesn't turn on immediately. I have to wait about 25 minutes for it to build up enough of a charge to run. Seriously, WTH?!?! My ECS ran fine with the same load and my load is tiny, just a Combo Drive and a SATA Drive with a USB mouse and PS2 Keyboard. My PSU is a 400watt Ultra that came with the Microfly.

2) My system fails to post when I'm testing overclocking. More like, the VGA craps out and I can't really do anything. Is this normal, and if so - how do I recover from posting failure? I don't like clearing CMOS everytime. Good news is that I can get FSB to 290.
 
1. 25 minutes to "charge up?" ASM, try a real power supply or another outlet. If that doesn't work, your board is FUBAR. Max out the VDIMM the next time you get it to post, to see if it is not getting enough juice.

2. It is normal on some boards. Some have better autorecovery features than other. My DS3, POS that is was, would force me to pull the jumper every time I pushed it too hard, which was often. …and the jumper is in a retarded position, in between PCI slots, so I had to pull the sound card everytime it did it. Now this P5B-MX, on the other hand, is a saint! Jumper is in a normal position and it recovers 99% of the time by temporarily resetting defaults. The only time I have had to pull the jumper was when I set mem timings it could not handle – and that’s a fairly standard problem.

Hold down INS, DEL or F1 before it boots… Sometimes that will force the defaults to load. Not sure what the hotkey is for AMI bioses though or if there is one. This is the first time I have been on a board that uses an AMI bios in a long time.
 
The PSU thing is weird. It should deliver more than enough power. Oh well.

Also, I've been having alot of RAM problems with it. It seems like there are some contact issues with the DIMMS. Anyone else run into this?
 
Replace the PSU.

And thats a normal overclocking thing for the board, you werent expecting a big OC were you?
