I have a Asus p4c800 E deluxe. It has been fine so far, but my dvd drive died and I got a new one from one of my customers. The new DVD drive is a Sata drive and I have never dealt with Sata optical before. I have raid 0 on the intel ICH5R controller and a External drive plugged into 1 port of the Promise Controller. The 2nd port of the promise controller, is setup and connected to the new Sata DVD drive.
When I first go to boot, the promise controller says that I should check my setup. So i cant boot, or even get into the bios. If I unplug the drive via the sata cable, it will boot fine, but when I plug it in, the pc permanently freezes.
What can I do?
