my PSU in my main rig screwed up and now i have a dead mobo/cpu.. it was a 2.4B

It still has warranty from newegg but I was thikning about maybe sending it back to intel... Im pretty sure I'll get back what i send to newegg, but maybe I might get a 2.4c or better in return from intel ?

and how long would the intel rma take approx ?

Thnx

I've RMAed a chip to Newegg. I got a brand new one (new Retail box) in return.

RMA took about one week turn around.

As for Intel, can't really count on them giving you back a 2.4C or better. They probably have stocks of B chips to replace for cases like this.

Go for Newegg, they have a much faster turnaround (days instead of weeks) they will send you at least what you had or better.... whatever they have in stock at that time.

I did an Intel RMA from Canada over New Years....It took three days after I had sent it to the. UPS held it at Customs longer than it took for them to me to send it and for Intel to ship me out a new one.

I was getting ready to put my RMA, I couldnt find the item then i realized that i had purchased my CPU from eXcaliberPC.com cuz they had the C1 steppings :/

So I guess I should ask once again what to do.. Ive never dealt with excaliber pc except for buyin this cpu

Depends on how long you have your cpu. If the retail site doesn't RMA then contact Intel.
