P4 2.8 with sl6z5 code

What kind of chip is this? I am an AMD guy myself but my brother-in-law bought this one cause the guy af Fry's said that the one with 1 meg cahce has lots of returns due to heat problems. I know little about P4's and dont want him to get screwed over.

I have read that this is the M0 stepping. Any good?

m0's are believed to be p4ee's that have failed tests. they either failed the cache test or frequency test. for the most part they overclock higher than normal d1's because they have a larger die for dissipating more heat, a thicker pcb, and are able to handle mroe volts safely. m0's came in only 2.4c's and 2.8c's. the 2.4c in my sig is an m0 and im running at 3.4 no problem.

My 2.8C is also OCing quite well. I've had no problems with it. In fact, even if it's not going to be OCed, it's probably going to be the best one to get. I definitely wouldn't worry about it. Intel doesn't generally release something that isn't reliable. Well, at least since the Pentium 90 with the floating point bug, and the i820 with MTH.
