to start off, does anyone know of any good video card overclocking guides?
1. i have a very simple question - when you overclock your core and mem clocks, do you increase them both by the same increments, or do you try to keep the stock ratio between them? for example, on my card the stock core/mem is 252/513. so if i overclock to 300 core, should the mem be 611 (more than twice as high as the core, just like at stock speeds)? or should i increase the mem by 50 MHz when i increase clock by 50 MHz, leaving a result of 302/563?
2. does increasing voltage allow you to get higher clocks, as with CPU? the highest stable freq's i can get with stock voltage on my Ti4200 are around 320/650. beyond that, i get artifacting and black or invisible spots in windows, and 3dmark2001 pauses every few seconds when it runs. will increasing the voltage get rid of these problems and allow me to reach higher stable clocks? or is better cooling the only way to get higher speeds?
3. what are vmods? any guides on how to do these?
EDIT: one more thing - when testing to see how far the core and mem overclocks can go, does it make sense to keep one at stock while overclocking the other? what i mean is, do core and mem have any effect on eachother? if i leave core at stock speed to see how far i can raise the mem and have it still be 3dmark stable, will i be able to reach the highest possible mem speed?
