I can't get my barton 2500+ to run at 11x200 without it crashing in games. I tried raising the vcore up to 1.8v to no avail. It boots windows fine, but would crash after 10-15mins of gaming.

Also my computer wouldn't start if I use a 10 multiplier for some reason, but other settings such as 11 or 9.5 works. I currently run it stable at 9.5x200 at default vcore.

I don't know if the problem is with the cpu itself and I'm screwed, or the problem is with the temp.

My power supply isn't very good, but it should suffice for this...

I really want to reach 3200+ without an extreme high vcore. What should I do?

Ram default timmings were 2.5-4-4-8 i think.

Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks.

You could try a higher fsb, I can do either 11x200 or 10x220 at stock voltages. 11.5x200 is unstable and I havent tried about 220 on 10x220

I just got a 2500+ and dfi lp board. I noticed that the vcore flucuates a bit... I was wondering if the psu is to blame as well. (300w sparkle)

So I turned up the vcore to 1.8 in the bios and got 1.75-1.78v. That got prime 95 stable for one cycle in 4 hours. 65f ambient played a big role. I noticed my temps came down a little after the thermal pad got broken in a little. I also had a gamma 28 blower blowing on the small side vents to help the weak stock hs/f.

What kind of thermal paste did you use? A nice even thin coating? etc, etc..

What is your room temperature? And how is your case ventilation? The idle and load temps should come down.Get those fins some fresh cool airflow. :)

Describe your setup a little further. ie, what stepping and week are your chip? What timings is your ram rated for?

did u just buy this proc?

Also, do u know what stepping it is? I've got an aqxea core and am able to get it to 12x200 for 2.4ghz with no troubles.

also - check to make sure you're running propper ram timings that your stick is rated for, I doubt your samsung ram is rated for CL2. That might be what's holding up the show.

i don't know wut the steppings are, I bout it on newegg about 3 months ago.

really? but it runs fine at 9.5x200 at thsoe timings, so I thought 11x200 wouldn't put any extra stress on the ram?
