What is the best board for overclocking an amd 939 socket series? I remember that when the Athlon 64's (734 i think???) came out, they were multiplier locked on the upside.

Are the 939's? And is there a board manufacturer that has gotten around this? Please post opinions, ref's here.

Thanks!

939s are locked upwards but not downwards. The FX53 is not locked at all. As far OCing, see my system below (still tweaking and waiting for my PCP&C to come)

Now or in 2 - 2.5 months?

Now there are no MoBos without issues for the 939 socket yet. There are some ppl very satisfied with their XYZ brand 939 board and for every 5 or 10 of them there are ppl with real issues with the same board.

However in a while DFI will have released their Lanparty UT socket 939 nF3 250Gb which will hopefully be a mature card. If its OC youre interested in Id go with a 754 CPU now (if U dont have more money then U know how to spend) That DFI board is on prepurchase now in the US search and find the thread where I posted the mail fr. DFI.

Obviously noone have had their hands on a retail board of these but the previews have been favoureble. And U wont loose much going from 939 to 754 since the effect of Dual Channel isn't that big on A-64s.

I was actually looking at your board. You happy with it?

Yes, im very happy with my board. As far as problems with the MSI Neo2, some were unhappy with SATA raid speeds, but theres a setting in the bios you need to enable for it to work properly, and memory compatability issues, but you get that with any board really and my mushkin is running great on mine. The only problem i have is temp readings are off but thats something that should be fixed fairly soon :)

See my sig. I haven't really got to see what the ASUS A8V can do yet, but my locks are functional. I'm still running on a stock cooler and trying to decide on what to buy

None of the FX's are locked
All of the 64's are upwards locked, but you can lower the multi

Edited for my stupid typo
