so i have a sk43g shuttle http://global.shuttle.com/Product/barebone/brb_OverView.asp?B_id=26

and i have a amd xp 1700+ cpu in it

i also have a gig of ddr400 ram running at 2-3-3-6 @ ddr 266, i can losen timings for overclocking

the chipset on the boad only does 333fsb, even tho its some 400 chipset, which wouldnt matter i dont see gettin the fsb that high....

what im wondering is if this board has an agp/pci lock for when i overclock?

and lookin for anybodys expereinces with overclocking the 1700+, how fast did u get it? what voltage, and fsb?

also this shuttle is using that ICE cooling....i have fan speed set to 100% constant, and i used arctic silver on the cpu....how safe is it?

also in the system is a gf4 TI 4600 AGP, and a SBLive! 5.1 and 80gb seagate sata hdd...

i might overclock the video, but unlikely, i just want some more mhz outta the cpu, any suggestions?

**edit

as of now, its idling at like 45c....case is like 41 or so.....i know the safe headroom is like 55c and below right....

seems the seagate hdd took a serious dump on me...no reason, but i hear it makin the clicky sound......so im puttin the other seagate sata 80gb back in there, but thats a project for morning

For an older athlon my personal limit is 63*c under full load. Depending on voltage amount. I've seen many 1700+ reaching 2.3ghz or so with proper cooling.

What kind of 1700+ is it? If it is a Tbred B, you should easily get 2GHz out of it. I had a couple that did 2.4 at stock Vcore.
