Hmm, hi all

Ive had an AMD 2500+ for quite a while now (its a week 24ish chip i think) and it overclocks with stability to 2.3ghz, passes prime with flying colours etc etc. However, in games, its terrible! eg - in counterstike, online, my recoil is shot, and i dont hit what i fire at. After reverting to stock, it seems much better. In games such as need for speed underground, and battlefield, it chunks quite badly. After reverting to stock, these seem fine again.

I guess prime isnt the be all and end all, is it. ;)

Ps, this isnt a ram issue, all i have done is raise the multi (yes, ive done fsb oc'ing as well, but i thought id prove the cpu was the issue) - no matter how much voltage i give it, it doesnt change the reaction of the proc.

What does your CPU have to do with your aim in counterstrike ? maybe its your video card. Usually problems w/graphics (choppyness in a game) have to do w/a vid card.

Well, i would have thought that as well - however, after reverting to stock, my recoil has literally halved - i can spam long range, and before i couldnt. My 3 bullet bursts are totally accurate now. I really dont want to give up my overclock, but my whole system seems more responsive at stock now... hell, i dont understand it myself :(

The odd thing is, this is mainly online - if im on lan (lan served by my comp) the recoil is fine.

The chunkiness in nfsu is definitely more apparent after the overclock.

In saying that, maybe my overclock is just too much for the gfx card and it cant keep up :) would be quite probable.
