Here are my specs on a P4C800-E Deluxe.

Was just hoping there was some more left in this cpu with air.
I can get it to 3.6ghz @ 1.7v, but I'm worried that's too much voltage sine the ASUS boards fluctuate it from 1.73-1.78v. It stays under 50 load, but I haven't dared push it farther without someone looking it over. Cooling on cpu is Zalman 7000A-Al/Cu with a dab of AS5.

BIOS settings are 5:4 divider,320mhz for RAM,66/33 for AGP. Voltage: vcore 1.58 (Auto), 2.75 vdimm, AGP 1.5.
All Performance settings on Auto, Spread spec: off, USB Legacy off.

Lemme know if u guys think I got any juice left in this sucker or whether I should go water or just shut up and be happy @ 3.5-6.

btw. I used the Raptor bench and with a 64stipe size Write: 84 and Read is 50 something, which is ok i guess.
 
3.5GHZ and only 10.600 Mips!?

Have you disabled somekind of fast instruction cycle option?
That looks horrible slow for 3.5GHz P4 AFAIK.

Maybe you're cpu is throtteling?
 
haven't disabled anything to my knowledge. my benches did appear low to me. Any suggestions? What does it mean for your cpu to be throtteling?
 
Pentium 4's will throttle their actual clock speed when they overheat to prevent lockup and damage to themselves.

so if your machine is set to be 4GHz and it runs over about 75c it will slow down to about 3.5 or whatever is required to get the temperature back under about 40C.

Of course when the chip cools off the cycle begins again. While your running your bechmarks you can check WCPUID's real time clock checker while your benches are going. That way you can observe your clock speed while the chip is under load.

BTW I don't think CPU-Z can do real time clock speed checks. So I would get a copy of WCPUID so you can get the real time clock checker.
 
why are you running a mem divider. Your Mushkin can do 234FSB 1:1 with enough volts. As for your 1.7V, I run my 2.4C @ 1.8V daily 44C on an abit AI7 Probe, meaning more like 38C load temps.
 
well my cpu did throttle when i did a 1:1 @ 3.3 and it dropped it all the way down to 1.6ghz, which scared the shit out of me.
 
your arithmatic benchmark looks right to me...

i overclocked my 2.8E to 3.6 and i was getting lower number i checked for throttling and there were none :)
 
I run 284FSB and have my throttle turned off via bios. Screw the chip let it burn.
