Hi,

I have a strange thing going on with a Dell 1901 FP that nobody can seem to explain but I have always found help and information here in the past so here goes.

My 1901FP currently turns on and self tests properly but when it is running hooked up to the PC the OSD lock symbol pops up (its a little padlock) and the padlock will open and close for about a minute, will go away only to repeat this after another minute. Everything else seems OK with it.

Worse case maybe this will stump everyone here, also

So you're saying it won't remember that the OSD is set to unlocked? It remembers every other setting, right? I take it it's not supposed to lock itself after a set amount of time? You've tried setting the OSD lock setting to 'No'? Dunno, seems a weird one. xD

I don't know what its doing except that the padlock symbol shows up on the screen, opens and closes a few times, then goes away. This process repeats over and over. I just got a responce from a repair center for the first time and he said it sounded like the logic board was messed up. I asked if could be replaced and am waiting to hear back.

have you tried to reset the monitor to its defaults ? if you havent, try that and see if it then starts to behave, presuming you can actually do that and havent been locked out...

basically just try and reset it to the monitors defaults and maybe that will clear it up.

Hi, thanks but the buttons on the front don't work either. I am 99% sure that it is the logic board that is bad.

Now, ;) anyone know where I can get some schematics for a Dell 1901FP? I searched all over the web and it is as if they don't exist.

OK, if no one knows where to get schematics, how about just a blown up view so I can see what's where.

Thanks,
LouP

You could always look on eBay for a broken 1901FP with a still functioning board. Then just swap them over.

Thanks,

I found a board, I just want to make sure I don't break the monitor taking it apart so I would like to find an exploded view of it somewhere.
