OS Troubleshooting & Repair (Windows)

What tools and resources are you guys using for troubleshooting and repair of Windows Operating Systems?
Specifically Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10.

I'm looking for new tools and resources I can "add to my kit."

I'd like to explore options for repairing an OS before I get to the point of "fuck it" and resort to reloading the OS.
This will be especially useful when I cannot boot, login or otherwise maintain OS stability, and as a result cannot use my normal set of command line tools, built in Windows repair tools, etc.

Besides using an OEM Windows disc to access repair tools, Windows recovery USB drive and built in Windows tools (see above statement), I'm coming up short on what else is out there and what can help me.

Any input? What are you guys using? Thanks!

That's the place to go for this kind of question as some folks around here just can't stop recommending software that no self-respecting computer technician would use (unless they were being paid to shill the wares, of course).
