What would be the optimal cluster size for two 120gb SATA 7200rpm drives in a RAID 0 under windows XP pro - 32bit?

I am shooting for speed here, not fault tolerance or redundancy.

This is a good question. I am wondering the same thing.

I currently have software raid 0 setup using windows 2003. I have a seperate striped drive for my swap file made up of two 750 meg partitions. I noticed an increase in swap performance when I set the cluster size to 4K. keep in mind this is only for the swap file. My larger striped drive that my programs reside on is set to the default cluster size(not sure what that is).

I got the 4K idea from this page

in Windows XP the best performance is obtained with 4K ones — the normal size in NTFS and in FAT 32 partitions smaller than 8GB. This then matches the size of the page the processor uses in RAM to the size of the clusters, so that transfers may be made direct from file to RAM without any need for intermediate buffering
