• Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.

Opinions please.

I am now working for a computer support team in which we are constantly.. removing viruses and spyware and also installing windows updates for all kinds of versions of the various os'es out there. I need a small fast portable solution that won't break the bank. I also need something with compatibility with windows 98 and up if possible. Any ideas .. Oh and storage size I need is minimum 20g. Any ideas ? :D

I don't think you are going to get driverless plug and pray on 98. However, buy the biggest Seagate PATA drive you can afford and the best external enclosure you can find on Newegg that comes with 98 drivers - the Bytecc 5.25/3.5" unit that's on sale on Newegg (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=17-145-314&depa=0) for $30 does. Don't buy the hard drive itself on Newegg though - get it on ZZF.

another vote for this type of solution.

i've used the vantec enclosure from the egg, along with a 250 gb seagate drive. the thing works like a champ!
also, the vantec unit comes with a driver cd for any of your win98/me needs :)

Thanks for the assistance guys I was seriously tempted by your suggestions but one thing I had asked about is not not met by your suggestion... Size of the product. I need something small and durable. I think I got what I need on newegg.com from IOGear its a 60gig tiny portable usb hard drive. Does have drivers for Win98se and up. If a system is too riddled with spyware to be fixed.. I know what will be my recommendation. And it only makes better sense for my clients that they be told the realities of modern computing and Os support.

But thanks anyway. I will discuss my results with my new drive in a day or so. The drive will be arriving sometime today before 43opm. I ordered it next day air. :)
