Hello,

I am hoping some one can help with a problem that is becoming more frustrating everyday,

I have a black Macbook and a HP DV2000 notebook, my cable modem is connected to my D-Link wireless router. I am unable to have both machines connected to the Internet at the same time and furthermore the other machine is then unable to connect to the router until I reset the router with that machine!!!!

Thanks!

sounds like your dlinks acting like a hub and your cm only allows one active connection.

try updating the firmware and model # dlink. are you pppoe or dhcp have you tried resetting the cm and router?

Make sure your modem is connected to the WAN or internet port on the router also. Maybe try doing a factory reset on the router also and set it up again and see what happens.

as mentioned, if you connected the cable modem to a lan port instead of the wan port, you'll need to turn off the modem for a minute to make sure the mac address setting is reset.
