Omnidirectional Condenser Microphone Headset?

Been on the lookout for a good headset microphone that provides clear speech with my surround speakers. Been seeing stuff like this:

Anyone have any experience with such a mic? I imagine the sound quality would have to be good to justify the high price, but I'd like to hear some opinions before pulling the trigger on such a pricey product. If anyone has alternative suggestions I'd love to hear em. I have the Zalman clip-on mic and also an Andrea NC-8, both of which are meh....

omni means that it will pick up a lot of the ambient / room sound as well. I would imagine that usually you would want something more directional.
