I am planning on moving my 6 disk RAID-Z2 to an 8-10 disk RAID10 for better performance. I will be destroying the RAID-Z2 pool and using those 6 disks + 2-4 more for the RAID10. My question is there an easy way to keep the shares available so I don't have to go setup all the permissions again on each share? Basically I have JBOD as a backup solution and will just use Microsoft SyncToy to copy all the files back. Any other tips to keep do this easy as possible?

I am using OI151a5 and napp-it 0.8k.

If you can build a new pool without destryoing the old one:

- Replicate your datasets to the new pool with the help of ZFS send
(you can use napp-it replication extension locally for free or remotely with an eval key)

- Solaris ZFS stores Windows ACL as extended ZFS attributes, so your ACL are kept.
- Replicated datasets keeps all ZFS properties and snaps.

After replication, you need to disable the replication job, disable readonly and check if the shares are enabled -thats all
