Lemme list the System Specs first:

4770K (H100i cooling)
AX1200i PSU
(2) GeForce GTX Titans (SLI)
Asus Hero VI Mobo
Win8 x64
M4 256GB SSD (OS)
(4) 4Tb HDDs (Data)
(3) M4 512 SSDs (Games)
Seiki 39" 4k2k TV

System's been working fine for months. Came home from work last Sunday and powered up. Saw the BIOS Splash Screen, the Win8 startup logo, then nothing. TV displays the No Input found message

First thought...Cheap-ass $500 UHD TV = culprit so I broke out the U3011 30" Dell I keep on the shelf as backup. Same result.

Okay...TV isn't the issue...Maybe it's one of the Video Cards?

Try 1 Video Card in primary PCI Express slot. Same result.

Try other Video Card in primary PCI Express slot. Same result.

Try the 4770K's integrated video. Works fine.

Okay...maybe it's the primary PCIexpress slot on the mobo

Try 1 Video Card in secondary slot. No Video.

Try other Video Card in secondary slot. No Video.

Try the 4770K's integrated video. Works fine.

So...looks as if either BOTH video cards died simultaneously, or the slots in the motherboard died simultaneously...

Put everything back together so I don't have parts scattered all over.

So used to using SLI/Xfire in my builds that I reconnected the Titans

System works fine. Been working fine ever since. (3 days now)

WT Actual F?!

This is my main system and I use it mainly for 3D Design/Database design work (and I game on it too) so I can't really feel comfortable again relying on it until I can figure out WTH happened.

Anyone encounter an odd issue like this? What should I check next?

God thats hard to read.
Section at least!!

If its fine with no issues, you had a bad connection.

You used a different psu then your main system correct? Try a different psu pcie cable position.... I'm just pulling ideas off the wall

I agree that your post is a little hard to follow but if you were getting video during POST and until right after the splash screen it sounds like a driver glitch. I forget how Win8 safe mode works but in Win7 if you encounter this issue you can try booting into safe mode and since it uses generic gpu drivers you know that drivers are the problem if safe mode works. If that's the case simply uninstall the driver through device manager, reboot, and reinstall the driver.

I know you said it started working again but my guess is that switching to onboard or moving the cards around caused whatever was glitched to reset. I've had similar issues but it was caused by an unstable PC locking up, not sure what could have caused it for you but if this was the problem I doubt you'll see it again unless you replicate the situation.
