I built a computer for a friend, and it is having really strange problems. It has a shuttle nforce2 board, amd xp 2500, pc 3200 ram, and ati 7500 video. The power supply is Tt. When the power swith on the PS is turned on, the system immedialt boots up, without touching the other swith, and there is no picture on the screen. It turns off by itself shortly after. The case power swith is useless. Turning the PS switch off and then on again will result in the same scenario (boot up by itself for about 5 sec). This is really wierd, and I dont know why it is happening. Please help

That certainly sounds like a screwed power supply to me. Have you tried switching it out?

If you don't have another handy, take the mobo connector and short the green wire to any black wire using a paper clip, will it continue to run in this way?

REMOVE ALL CONNECTIONS FROM HARDWARE BEFORE BRIDGING ANY CONNECTIONS! obviously.

Well, we know you cant have put the wires wrong, because it doesnt matter wich way they go, the power switch will still work the same...........it almost sounds like the switch is shorted/faulty. completely remove the wires for the power switch from the motherboard, and try turning on the psu. if it doesnt turn on(it shouldnt) the switch is bad. you also might want to swap out another psu to see if its the problem.
