Alright so hooked up my 320GB Seagate Sserial ata HD to my new rig, core 2 duo evga setup. Well when I restart during the shutting down before restarting it sounds like the HD is trying to like "turn over" a 2-3 times before Vista finishes and it starts doing the restard thing. Is this normal? I dunno is my HD trying to do things faster than Vista can is that the issue?

What do you mean by "turn over"? Is it a spinning noise? I wouldn't expect power supply problems from a HX620, but have you had any other issues that might indicate power issues? What does SMART say about the drive?

Smart how and what do I do to use that?
Well a week ago the drive was fine it just sounds like yeah it's like gearing up to spin fast then stops few times while it's waiting for vista to finish shutting down.

You can use SpeedFan to check SMART attributes.

Is the drive set to spin down? How securely is it fastened to the case? Is it vibrating right before you shut down? If you unfasten it from the case does it still make the noise?

I didn't see this option in my bios, and the smart thing in speedfan isn't working maybe cause of vista 64bit, but it also doesn't have my mobo in it to choose from. Can anyone tell me if moving it from SATA 4 to SATA 1 or the other would make a difference?

Also in my bios I have an option for Access mode, Auto or Large. Which do I want and would either make a difference? it's been on auto so far.
