I've seen bad memory cause video problems, but nothing quite like this, tried to take a picture but my cell phone is old and you can't see the problem clearly.
I'm dealing with a laptop, a Dell Latitude D620 and I think the vertical address lines are scrambled.
If you address the vertical columns of pixels starting with 0 on the left, it looks like what is being displayed looks something like:
1,2,0,4,5,3,7,8,6...
For the record, I connected an external monitor to the VGA port and the video display there was perfect. I recently started working here, asked my co-worker if there was a D-series docking port, and he said we didn't have any. (I was thinking if we did, and dhe DVI-D port on the docking station showed the same visual glitch, it would prove that that digital output from the motherboard is bad.
On a side note, I know the docking port can drive 2 monitors. does anyone know if a D620 can drive 3 monitors simultaneously with the docking port? (Internal display, DVI-D port and VGA port)
So, has anyone seen video corruption of this type before with a laptop? with an external LCD desktop monitor?
I appreciate any help you can provide.
