Hello! Well i have a OCZ PowerStream 520 power supply and i am wondering if it will be enough to power an e4300 oc at 2.4ghz, a 9800gtx+(overclocked), 4gb ram, and a 8800gts 320 graphics card? Right now i do not have the 8800gts 320 in there, as i am wondering if i have enough power to those 2 graphics card, oh and those are for folding :D. Thanks!

I think you will probably need just a touch more power. At least a 600.

Hi, the 520w PowerStream has a single large 12v rail, and it should be able to handle your rig running at those speeds. I have not tested that configuration, but have run faster CPU speeds with a 9800 GTX without straining the PSU at all. No guarantees, but I would say give it a try.

This PSU is plenty strong and would keep up with larger PSU's when we sold them. It was conservatively rated and based on a server PSU core.

he has a 9800gtx+ and a 8800gts 320 in the same system, you think this psu is enought:confused:

Probably not. He said he was folding and not running 3d games though, so he can probably run it in 2d. He would be best off getting an 800w plus PSU though.

i have an OCZ ModStream 520W... i had to upgrade when i went sli with 8800's... was fine with the 7600's but yeah, upgrade the supply i'd say.

Thanks guys!! Well its only with the 9800gtx+ right now, just want to make sure that when i add in my old 8800gts 320 for folding that i will have enough power. I still don't really want to try it out as i don't want to fry my components or kill the power supply  im not sure if this has anything to do with power but before i add in a 9800gtx+ from 8800gts the dvd drive(lite on sata) works great but then after wards when i put in the cd for crysis it makes a weird noise several times and stops(i can still load it fine though) and when i put it into another pc there is no weird sound(so its not the game disc) but then it could be that the dvd drive is almost dying  But yes i heard the oczpowerstream has a pretty huge 12V rail and that is one reason i bought it but still don't know if its 32amps or above, so if someone has the definite answer that will be great! If it doesn't have enough juice then i guess ill have to wait for Christmas till i get a new power supply, November is motherboard upgrade.. Thanks again!!

Oh also i sometimes play intense games with the graphics card for example, crysis, trackmania, and flight simulator x.

I sure as hell wouldn't do it.

Yea i guess that would be the smartest move, ill just first go ahead and get a asus p5q pro so pcie 2.0 so gpu full power! :) next month as its about time for a motherboard upgrade and maybe get a new psu this december, but id like to use my power supply for at least 2 years before replacing  so i guess for now ill just get a new motherboard and decide early next year. Thanks! Any more suggestions is welcomed and appreciated.

+1 PSU is more important than a mobo upgrade

but... my motherboard is a d975xbx with x16 and no 45nm support and only support up to 667mhz!! lol but ill prob end up getting a new motherboard first as the powersupply can handle my specs allright, but will def need a new one if i add in another graphics card. Ugh what should i do
